When the mains lighting fails in an occupied building, legislation normally dictates that Secondary ( Emergency) Lighting is immediately provided to prevent panic, ensure safe evacuation of the building and illuminate Fire Protection/Fire Fighting Equipment.
Regular servicing is essential , the Responsible Person must appoint a competent person or Company to supervise the Emergency Lighting System. That person or Company needs to be given the authority to carry out any necessary work.
We at C.M.S carry out Annual Routine Maintenance and Testing of Emergency Lighting in line with current Standards. All our Technicians carry out a full duration test to check that each luminarie is functional by simulating a mains failure.
They ensure all luminaries are clean and in good working condition and any fluorescent tubes found with blackened ends are replaced with new.
After testing the Emergency Lighting , the mains supply should be restored and then checked to ensure the system is charging correctly. Any faults found should be recorded in the log book and a quotation sort for any repairs or remedial work.
A full written inspection report is issued on every visit along with periodic test certificates for Emergency Lighting systems and on site personnel are made aware of their responsibilities regarding daily and monthly checks.
We also supply a range of Emergency Lighting to Electrical Contractors which consists of 8 Watt Maintained and Non-Maintained Bulkhead Fittings, Exit Boxes and a stylish hanging Exit sign.
Some of our fittings utilize the super bright LED’S instead of a fluorescent tube for maximum efficiency and low maintenance.
To support our CMS range of Emergency Lighting we stock Battery Replacement Packs, Inverter Boards, T5 Mini Fluorescent Tubes and Running Man Legend Kits.
To ensure that the above system receives the correct maintenance may we recommend that you avail yourselves of a Maintenance Contract with us to cover this work. We shall be pleased to quote you for this Service on request.
